As it happened in
the history of Russia, its greatness comes from its dictators, not from its
people. Can Russia be mighty without Kremlin dictators?
The current (and
the last as everyone hopes) dictator began to lose his popularity as soon as he
tried to tread on people’s toes when he decided to provide pension reform. The
rate of credibility immediately decreased from 60% to 48%, thus about 60% of Russians
said they trusted Putin when he just started his third term and there were a
lot of protests against his return to power. It was unexpected that the person,
who was the leader, almost the emperor, for the main part of population only a
short time ago, lost his rating so quickly.
The greatness of
any country is achieved not so much by the individuals in power as by its
hardworking people and highly erudite elite. Does anyone need a leader, who can’t provide satisfied
and worthy life in a democracy for his people, using rich and innumerable
natural resources? What greatness does this leader have, if he mercilessly
exploits his country when he and his team take abroad billions of money stolen
from the people and converted into the foreign currency?
That is why 53% of Russians are going to
continue their protests against an increase of the retirement age and closing
up of other social projects, which were not popular with the Russian
authorities.
But the Kremlin leader, like his numerous
predecessors, apparently believes that he is reviving the “Great Russia”,
keeping other countries in fear. This is clearly a primitive view of things. As
a result, the dictator understands only the language of force, because he
prefers to deal with weak rival.
The country that threatens almost the whole
world can’t be mighty. It looks like paranoia, when the ruling elite are afraid
of the manifestation of freedom by its people and even its neighbours. Greatness
does not come from fear, it comes from self-confidence, from the fact that your
people and your neighbours are not only afraid of you, but sincerely respect
and believe in your natural justice. And if a leader does by his neighbours
like a thug, he won’t be mighty.
The Kremlin leader’s reputation as a defender
of Russia’s greatness and a symbol of the only hope gradually fades away, and the
world has already refused to accept his gangster tactics of restoring
popularity by annexing neighbour’s territories. The multinational Russian
people began to realize that Russia can be mighty and respected in the world
without Kremlin dictators, who should be dethroned.
